A Quickie In The Morning

Ideally your body should be warmed up before doing any weight bearing exercises so 5-10 minutes on the stairs or a brief walk round the block should be enough to do it, rather than stretching make sure to add in mobility exercises to your warm up. As you are walking/stepping add in shoulder rolls, shoulder lifts, arm bends, kicking heels up to backside and lifting knees up in front. This will ensure all your joints are prepared for the following exercises

  • Press ups/wall press

  • Seated Row
  • Squats
  • Crunch
  • Back Extension
You can do this simple routine as a circuit (15 reps per exercise 2-3 times round) or try 2-3 sets of 12-15 of each exercise before moving on to next exercise. The only equipment you need is a single exercise band (if you have weights you could make your squats more difficult)

Make sure to stretch off all your muscles before finishing so as to avoid muscles ache and to increase flexibility. Hold for 30 seconds.

You should only feel a slight tightness; it should not be painful or uncomfortable. This should not be done every morning, as your muscles need time to rest
